Acceptance of terms

By downloading or using Grove, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not download or use the app.

License

Compilery Software LLC grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Grove on Apple devices you own or control, solely for personal, non-commercial use. This license does not include any right to sublicense, modify, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Grove.

Subscriptions and purchases

Grove offers a free tier and Grove Premium, available as the following in-app purchases:

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store account and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store account settings. Previous purchases can be restored on your devices using the restore purchases option in the app. Apple's Terms and Conditions also apply to all transactions made through the App Store.

All purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's payment and refund policies. We are not able to process refunds directly; any refund requests must be made through Apple.

Your content

Grove lets you add your own content — including book notes, quotes, thoughts, reading goals, and cover images you choose. You keep all ownership of the content you add, and we claim no rights to it. Your content is stored on your device and, if you subscribe to Premium and use iCloud sync, in your own private Apple iCloud — we do not host, access, or back it up for you. You are responsible for the content you add and for keeping your own backups (for example, through your device's iCloud or local backups). You agree not to add content that is unlawful or infringes the rights of others. Book metadata and cover images retrieved from third-party databases remain the property of their respective owners.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse Grove. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to: attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except to the extent permitted by applicable law; using the app in any way that violates local, state, national, or international laws or regulations; introducing viruses, malware, or other harmful code; interfering with or disrupting the app or any services or networks it relies on; impersonating any person or entity; and attempting to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the app or its related systems.

Grove integrates with third-party book databases and Apple services to provide its features:

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of any third-party services. Your use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Intellectual property

Grove, its name, and its design are owned by Compilery Software LLC. All rights not expressly granted in these terms are reserved. Book data, cover images, and other content retrieved from third-party databases belong to their respective owners. Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights in third-party content to you.

Service availability

We aim to keep Grove working reliably, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may occasionally limit or suspend access to perform maintenance or release updates, and some features rely on third-party services (such as Apple iCloud and the book databases listed above) that are outside our control. Disclaimer of warranties

Grove is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Compilery Software LLC and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages arising from or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, Grove — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Grove at any time, without notice, if you breach these Terms of Service or if we discontinue the app. Upon termination, all rights granted to you under these terms will immediately cease.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Grove after any changes have taken effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
